🪴 🦋 Inquiry Life Cycles Week 7 Term 4 2025 🦋🪴

Hello bloggers!! 😄

Today we had science! We all have a second rotation! The first one I was in Plants, and now I’m in LIFE CYCLES!! It’s about Monarch butterflies and plants! So on Tuesday, [I think] we went out to Mr. Robs garden and saw 2 really cool Caterpillars! It was really cool! That’s a stage of a Butterfly! Today is Thursday and we did science again, so today we had to do a Venn Diagram about Monarch butterflies and Plants! A Venn diagram is a circle which you have to compare two things and in the middle you put stuff that are the same! We also watched a video about a life cycle about Monarchs and Plants! It was really cool! One fact about plants\bees, is that a bee goes to a plant to take pollen, then it will go to another plant and the pollen will travel with it! Cool right?

Inquiry Clever Kahu Week 6 Term 3 (◕ᴗ◕✿)

WALT: Learning something new

HEYYY Bloggers!!!! 😁

Today is Thursday August the 21nd, and today we had to blog what we learnt\did on Tuesday! So we had a lot of activities to do! We had about 12 activities to choose from! The activities were, Count to 10 in Chinese, Space Crossword, Unite, Epic, Sticky notes creation [idk if we could do it or not], Animal folding, Origami, Board games, Juggling, and Sudoku. I was going to choose Juggling, but there were no Tennis balls left to use, so I chose to do Sudoku! I heard that Sudoku gives your brain more smartness. Sudoku for me was very hard and frustrating. I was about the complete one box at home, but sadly…. I couldn’t! For me it was SOOOO annoying when you can place to number you need in the box because it’s in the row next to you. If you guys don’t know how to play Sudoku, I will tell you. So there will be boxes that are empty, and some will have numbers on them. You can’t replete the same number in the row above you or on the left and right. It’s really confusing and hard to explain.

Greenhouse Gases Inquiry Term 3 Week 7

Hi Bloggers! 😊

This week we have been looking at a new inquiry topic! We had to choose from 6 different inquiry options! We had to fill out a form for the inquiry choices. We had three choices and this is what I chose: First choice, Fast fashion, Second choice, Greenhouse Gases, Third choice, Deforestation. I got the choice Greenhouse gases\Greenhouse effect. So that means that I got my second choice! I am happy about my choice. Now I am going to tell you what the Greenhouse gases mean.

Let’s start with the word greenhouse. Greenhouse is a place where plants and flowers grow. It is made out of plastic or glass. It let’s the sun come in but not the rain or snow. The glass or plastic protects the flowers and the plants during the winter, so that the rain and snow does not go inside of the greenhouse. Now let’s talk about gases. Gases are something that comes out of cars, planes, etc. [the rest of my facts are in my inquiry work that I am blogging 😄]

We had to go on the Senior learning site, then you have to go and click onto the sign that says Greenhouse gases. It will take you to a site. The teacher will play two videos then you have to type information into your doc. We had to make a copy of the Google doc, then you have to name it and put it into your Inquiry folder. There are 8 boxes of questions that you have to complete. One of the questions were  “What are Greenhouse gases used for?” Then you have to come up with a answer. But if your stuck coming up with a answer, you can copy it of the screen from the teachers. I was with the teacher Miss Lee.

For the last box of questions, you have to come up with your own reason. This was a why or why not question. Now I will show you my work! I hope you like it!

UPDATE: I will update my post once I’ve finished it! 😊

EDITED\UPDATED: I am going to give you a little bit of a description for my second part of the Greenhouse effect\gases! So for the second part of the greenhouse effect learning part, you have to create a greenhouse machine to extract CO2. [carbon dioxide] You can do it on a Google Drawing or you can draw the machine. I used it on a Google Drawing. I found it easy to do. I still have to finish making my machine with the shapes! So once I am done doing my machine, then I will update it! I liked using a Google Drawing, but I think next time I can improve on making my machine better. but I still think I did okay.

Here is my machine to extract CO2! Which I used on a Google drawing. I hope you like it!

Taskboard Maths Term 3 Week 6

Heyy Bloggers! 😄

This week we had a task board to complete. There were 6 Must do’s that you have to complete. You have to blog all of your Must do’s to move onto the Can-do’s. I chose Reading for my first must do, then for my second must do I chose Maths. For reading I had blogged it on a separate blog. So go and check out my Reading blog to see more!

For Math’s we had to do a Vacation list. So for the Vacation list you have $10,000 dollars to spend. You have to choose what destination you want to go to, accommodation, [what hotel, room, tent, or van you want to stay in] activities, and the totals of the vacation stuff you chose. [I have the rest of my information in my Math’s slideshow 😊] There were 6 slides in total. But you have to complete 4 slides. Because the other two slides are for what you have to do.

My favorite slideshow is the activity slideshow. It’s because it’s fun to see what different activities there are to do. The place I chose was Hawaii. [I have the rest of the information in my Vacation list]

I like this vacation task. It’s fun to do. The only thing I found hard is to do the total and count how much money there is. But I tried my best. I think next time I can improve on getting a bit more money like maybe up to 500 or 600. But I still think my amount is good.

UPDATE: I will update my post once I’ve finished it. 😄

K-POP Dance Inquiry Term 2 Week 6

Heyy Bloggers! 😄

For the past 2-6 weeks we have been doing inquiry! For inquiry our topic was K-POP! There were other topics too!

I will tell you them: African Art [Bright Patterns] , Australian Art [Dot Art] , Indian Art [Peacock] , Matariki [Maori Art] , Pasifika Art [Flower Art] , and K-POP [Korean Pop]

We had to first get our groups into buddies! The maximum is 3-5. So we have a group of 5! In my group I had: Sofia, Annabelle, Zahra, Aadhyasri and me [Amber] We were working with this teacher named Mrs Pratley.

For our first Create tasks we had to practice the dance. It would first show the steps, then it would show you have to put the steps together. We took 4-5 days in total to practice. But we finally did it! We did one practice today then we recorded it.

We could bring props to record. I brought a Black Sweater. It had a orange\yellow\brown Bear on it. My friends brought a Sweater, jeans, and Hair extensions. We all put it on our head. The colors my friends wore were: Pink [Annabelle] Purple [No One] Yellow [Me: Amber]  Orange [Aadhyasri] Blue Zahra] Sofia wore a hair tie extension. It was pink\purple and blue. I like the color Yellow.

We needed one Chromebook to record [which was Zahra’s] and one Chromebook to see how to do the dance [Sofia’s] The rest of us didn’t need to use our Chromebooks.

I like K-POP Dancing, it’s fun to do. I think I did pretty well in my dancing.

UPDATE: I will update my post once I’ve finished it. 😊

Here is my dance with all of my friends! Hope you like it! 🩷

Maori History Inquiry Term 1 Week 7

WALT: Construct a historical sequence of related events and show how long ago they happened

Hi Bloggers! 😁

This week we did Inquiry. For Inquiry we were learning about Maori History. The first thing we had to do when we learned Maori History was a Treaty of Waitangi flow chart.

First you have to watch the video to do a flow chart. Then you have to type up all of the important information into the flow chart. The flow chart has four boxes that you have to fill in. Once you have filled in all of the boxes, you have to go and get it checked off by a teacher.

The second thing we did for the Maori history was Maori history slideshows. In the Maori history slideshows there are seven slides you have to complete. In the first slide of the Maori history slideshows you have to click on the screenshot of the Treaty of Waitangi and then put it into the first slide. For the second slideshow you have to read the text, then you have to fill in all of the boxes. once you’ve done that, you have to get it checked  of by a teacher.

for the third slide you have to type down five facts of the story. This slide was called what happened after the Treaty. The facts have to be in order of the pages. Once you’ve done all five of your facts, you have to get it checked of by a teacher, then you have to make a Canva video about it. The Canva can be a video, or it can be an animation. The facts have to be on separate slides.

I like learning about Maori history. It’s fun to learn about. I think next time I can type up longer facts. Because I typed up short of facts. My favorite slide was slide five. Because it was easy. But I still think the other slides were easy as well.

UPDATE: I will update my post once I’ve finished it.

Amber’s Science Slideshow Term 3 Week 7

WALT: To try new colorful experiments

Hi Bloggers!

For the past 4 weeks we have been doing science. We had to choose 3 science groups we wanted to do. The year 6’s got their first choice, but the year 4’s and 5’s got their 2 or third choice. We could choose Brain Box Electrons with Mrs Ludamann, Fizzing and foaming with Miss Hanrahan, Plantastic-er with Miss Ronald, Dye Master taster with Mrs Pratley, States of Matter with Miss Ferguson, and Speedy Spheros with Mrs Lee. The first choice that I chose was Spheros, then the second choice that choose was Dye Masters, and the last choice that I chose was Plants. We could choose from only six. Even though we didn’t go to some of the science groups, we could still choose them for our choices. I got my second choice that was Dye Master Tasters with Mrs Pratley. We had to make a copy of the Student Science Inquiry Slideshow. It had 10 slides. We also had to make a group of 3-4. We had to plan our experiment with our group of 3 or 4. We had to also put backgrounds of what our experiment was related to. A lot of people were doing the skittle experiment. I also did the skittle experiment. My group was Me, Mia, Krystal, and Mahdia. We made a good group together. We had to buy things for our experiment. I had to bring the Vinegar, but I forgot to bring it. But luckily the teachers had an extra. One of the group did a Vinegar experiment. I don’t really know what the experiment was about. Another group did a flower experiment. It was so cool. We gave some skittles out to people. They were sour and flavorful. I enjoyed doing the experiment and the slideshows. They were fun and easy to do. Next time I think I can improve on adding a bit more detail to my slideshows.

UPDATE: I will update my post after I have finished it. 🙂

Amber’s Master Inquiry Slideshow

WALT: Identify what conservation is and why it is Important.

For Inquiry we learned about endangered animals. We had to do a Master Endangered animal Slideshow. It had 8 slides. We had to finish all of the 8 Slideshows. You had to search the information up, but you can’t copy and paste. The first Slide said what the name was, scientific name, and conservation state. The second Slide said describe what your animal looks like, and what are some special fetchers. The third Slide said where does the animal live, country or continent, weather, and where is the place they live. The fourth Slide said pitcher of animal, where does it find its food, how does it track its prey, and is it a herbivore, omavor, or a carnivore. The fift Slide said where does your animals live, what are some key or elements, and why does your animal like to live here. The sixth Slide said dangers to this animal, and what are ways we can help this animal. The seventh Slide said did you know, and summarize a paragraph and add a pitcher. The last Slide was an extra one. After we were done that we could do a Broucher on Canva, Canva video, or a Flip. I enjoyed it. I think I was good at it, and I had fun.

UPDATE: I will update my work once I have finished it. 🙂

it. I think I was good at it, and I had fun.

Amber’s Endangered Animal Inquiry Flip Video

WALT: Identify what conservation is and why it is important.

For the last 4 weeks we have been learning about Endangered animals. We had to do 8 slideshows. We had to chose an animal. The animal that I chose was the Yellow fin Tuna. One fact about the Yellow Fin Tuna is that, Yellow Fin Tunas predators are Sharks, Big Nose Sharks, Black Tip Sharks, and Cookie Cutter Sharks. After we had finished all of the 8 slideshows we could do a Canva Video, Canva Broucher, Flip Video, or a Goggle Slide. The one that I chose was the Flip Video. It was so much fun. I like to learn about Endangered animals, and do my Flip Video.
